Aline Madison Peverell is a fictional character on The CW Television Network's drama and horror television series Supernatural. She is portrayed by Amity Hale. Aline, along with Sam and Dean Winchester, hunts demons, spirits, and other supernatural creatures. The three of them are often assisted by Castiel, an angel who joins them in season 4. She first appeared in the episode “Skin,” being caught by the shapeshifter pretending to be Dean.
Early Life[]
Aline was born February 16, 1979. Mark Peverell, Aline's father and a demon that Azazel (a.k.a. “The Yellow-Eyed Demon”) considered to be his brother, & Aline didn't get along very well, nor did she get along with her “uncle” Azazel. She got along more with her mother, Nicole. Aline later found out that Nicole was considering getting a divorce from Mark before the fire that killed both her parents on Aline's tenth birthday, Aline the only survivor. The fire was ruled to be a murder-arson caused by Mark.
From that point on, Aline was moved from foster home to foster home, not staying for very long with one family. During the summer of 1992, Aline was placed in her tenth foster home, the family appearing to be nice and welcoming. She didn't run away from the family until her adopted-father attempted to rape her after a night of drinking two weeks before her fourteenth birthday. After that moment, she swore never to drink a drop of liquor, cutting two X's on her hands to remind herself of her promise.While she was waiting to be put with another foster family in the fall of 1996, Aline got a boyfriend, Damian. While she was with Damian, Azazel came to her while she was alone and told her what she was: a half-demon. She didn't believe him until January 1997, when Damian was in a coma after a car accident and close to dying. Right when Damian was about to die, Azazel appeared before her. She was about to make a deal with him, her servitude to Azazel for Damian to live, until Damian was proclaimed dead.
She attended Damian's funeral weeks later. Afterwards, Aline got herself emancipated from foster care and a job at the local bar as a waitress, buying herself an apartment in spring 2000.
Season 1[]

In “Skin,” Aline met “Dean” on the way over to Becky's house, offering to drive her home. She didn't accept and started walking away, but “Dean” opened the door and shoved her inside, blindfolding her and tying her hands in front of her. After he pulled the Impala into Becky's driveway, she attempted to scream, but “Dean” kissed her before ductaping her mouth shut and knocking on Becky's door.Aline later met Dean at the Impala, almost screaming for the police before he covered her mouth and helped her into the car. Later, Aline watched Dean kill “Dean,” the authorities declaring him dead. Before Sam and Dean left St. Louis, Aline decided to join them, calling herself the boys' “female companion.”In “Faith,” Aline starts to get a crush on Dean, the point proven when Dean acquires a fatal heart condition when he is electrocuted during a hunt. Later, when Dean asks her about it after he was saved by a faith healer, Aline lies and says that she was just worried about him. In “Shadow,” after being tied up by Meg, Meg calls her “Liney,” causing Aline to get upset and telling her not to call her that.

In the last episode of Season One, Azazel possesses John Winchester in an attempt to get The Colt for his own. Aline appeared to notice this first, immediately revealing her distrust of him to both Dean and Sam, but they both disagreed until Dean realizes that it's not really his father. Azazel pins the trio to the wall and has an unheard conversation with Aline, causing her to break his hold on her and take him down to the floor. Azazel taunts her, telling her to prove him wrong. Her eyes are black until Dean tells her to stop, calming her down as she gets off of him. Azazel pins her back to the wall and reveals that John favors Sam over Dean.
He also tells Dean that he was responsible for sending the demon's children back to Hell. After Dean makes a sarcastic remark about the situation, Azazel tortures him and Dean pleads for his father's help before losing consciousness, Aline screaming his name.
The season finale concludes with Sam, Dean, Aline, and John escaping from a clash with Azazel in Salvation, Iowa. Aline is sitting in the backseat next to Dean while Sam is driving to the hospital, Dean teasing her about screaming his name. A demon-possessed driver drives his truck into the Impala, causing massive damage to the car, Aline, and the Winchesters inside.
Season 2[]
“I know what you're gonna do. I don't like it, not one bit. How about you let me talk to him? I know he wants it, and we can't let him have it and you know it! Dean wouldn't want you to give it to him.” “Don't talk about him like he's dead!” “You think this is easy for me? Watching him die? I get that it's harder for you since he's your son, but I lo-care about him, too!”

Aline and the Winchesters survive the wreck, although Dean is more severely injured than his father, brother, and Aline. In the first episode of Season 2, “In My Time of Dying,” Aline, after being cleared to leave, sits by Dean's bed holding his hand, Dean in a coma. After Sam tells her what John wanted from Bobby, Aline immediately realizes what John intends to trade the Colt for Dean's life, showing her distaste for his choice and her growing crush for Dean by almost saying that she loves him. Aline goes down with John and, after he summons Azazel, offers her services to him for Dean's life. Azazel, however, chooses the Colt and John's life for Dean's.
“That doesn't matter! Put yourself in his situation for once! Imagine that you've been brought back to life thanks to your dad sacrificing his life for you and you say that it's your fault that he's dead. Then someone close to you, AKA me, comes in and says, 'Hey Dean! By the way, it's not your fault your dad's dead. It's all my fucking fault because the demon wouldn't accept my deal. Also, the demon that killed your mom and your brother's girlfriend was close enough to my actual father for me to call him uncle! And I'm half-demon with the same powers as him!'”

After hearing Dean say that he felt responsible for John's death in “Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things,” Aline runs into the woods and imagines herself punching Azazel in two of the bodies he possessed so far: John and the janitor from the hospital. She stops the moment his body changes to Dean's, saying that both her and Sam need him. The ground where she had been punching the demon was burned, later seeing that her eyes were black. After she got back to the car, Aline had a confrontation with Azazel that was unheard by both Sam and Dean, finding out that the demon was in her mind before falling unconscious.
While unconscious, she would have a conversation with John about what happened at the hospital, John saying to tell Dean he didn't blame him for his death. The dream would change to an out-of-body experience (almost like Dean's) inside the motel room, Aline having a second confrontation with Azazel while he possessed her subconscious. He reveals that Dean was going to move on, adding that John would've killed her if he was still alive. After she wakes up, Dean reveals that John told him that someday he may have to kill Sam.

During an investigation in Baltimore, MD, (“The Usual Suspects”) Aline attempts to get Dean out of police custody after he's arrested in connection with another series of murders, getting herself arrested in the process. Although the two of them, along with Sam, are able to prove that the murders were actually committed by one of the detectives on the case, it is unclear whether or not the charges against Dean were ever officially dropped. In Milwaukee, WI (“Nightshifter”), a team of FBI agents led by Special Agent Victor Henricksen catches up with Aline, Dean, and Sam, where attempted bank robbery and several more murders are added to Dean's list of supposed crimes. In between “Hollywood Babylon” & “Folsom Prison Blues,” Aline is dragged to 2008, meeting herself. Her future self reveals that Dean had been dead for four weeks and that she's going to Hell to rescue him.
After Dean tells her and Bobby that he made a deal with a “crossroads demon” for Sam's life in “All Hell Breaks Loose – Part 2,” Aline drives to a crossroads to make a deal of her own. At the end of the season, Aline reveals some of her dream to Dean along with the fact that she also made a deal, avoiding the contents of her deal.
Season 3[]
In the third season premiere, “The Magnificent Seven,” Aline appears to be coping with the fact that it was Dean's final year. While Dean makes the best of his last year, Aline appears to be jealous of his relationships with women, like Lisa Braeden in “The Kids Are Alright.”

In “Sin City,” Aline and Dean are trapped in the basement with Casey. Aline attempts to exorcise her when Dean fails to remember the words, but she struggles. Casey almost tells Dean about Aline being half-demon before Aline yells at her. When Dean confronts her about it afterwards, Aline reveals that she's gonna follow him to Hell four weeks after he dies and begs him not to tell Sam.
In “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” Aline confronts a future version of Dean in a nightmare, who attempts to kill her before he dies the same was as Mary and Jessica. After waking up, she tells Dean her whole past, along with how she almost made a deal with Azazel back in “In My Time of Dying.”

In “Mystery Spot,” Sam is forced to relive the same day, a Tuesday, over and over again. Out of the three of them, only Aline and Dean don't remember Dean's multiple deaths. In between “Jus In Bello” and “Ghostfacers,” Sam finds out about Aline's deal and what she is.
Aline, Sam, and Dean try desperately to free Dean from his contract, with only 30 hours left (“No Rest for the Wicked”). After Dean dies, Aline almost snaps, but Sam calms her down, telling her that he will rescue Dean. It is implied that Aline summoned a crossroad demon to take her to Hell to be with Dean four weeks after his death.
Season 4[]
The fourth season premiere, “Lazarus Rising,” begins four months after the third season finale. Aline helps Dean pull himself out of his grave. The two break into a nearby gas station where they get some water, food, and cash. They went over to Bobby's after trying to call Sam and Bobby hangs up on Dean. A fight ensues between Dean, Aline, and Bobby until both Dean and Aline prove to Bobby that it is really them. The three of them find Sam in a motel in a town right near where Dean was buried.
Aline and the Winchesters soon attempt to track down the force that ripped Dean from Hell. By the end of the episode, it is revealed that an angel named Castiel pulled Dean from Hell on God's command. When Dean and Aline are alone in “Lazarus Rising,” they swear to each other to keep what happened to them in Hell between them.
In “Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester,” Aline is haunted by the spirits of Meg Masters, Damian, and Henricksen, who want to kill Aline for not saving them. At the end of the episode, Castiel tells Dean to send Aline back to Hell, to which Aline responded by telling Castiel that she will become a full demon the moment she's sent back.

In “Yellow Fever,” while Dean is infected with ghost fever, Aline sticks by him, even when he tells her not to. Before Luther is dispatched, Aline tries to calm Dean down in his last few minutes, even going so far as to kiss him, which he bugged her about later. Despite not being able to see Lilith while Dean was dying, Aline knows that was who he saw, reminding him that both Dean and she remember everything they went through and did in Hell. She reluctantly admits they have to tell Sam what they did in Hell sometime, which Dean agrees to.
In “It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester,” Aline shows her dislike and distrust of Uriel when they meet him, which is mutual. At the end of the episode, Aline and Dean have a conversation with Castiel, Castiel reminding the two of them that they should appreciate what Hell on Earth means. In between “Heaven and Hell” and “Family Remains,” Aline reveals to Sam just how much she remembers from her time in Hell. She had been drinking holy water to tell the difference between what's real and what isn't, but Sam and Dean started hiding the crosses and holy water, stopping her habit in it's tracks. In “Family Remains,” Dean and Aline have a conversation while Sam's out, and Aline kisses him before she mentions about the one person that kept her human while she tortured souls in Hell.
In “Death Takes a Holiday,” Aline meets Tessa, the reaper from “In My Time of Dying,” reminding her of how Dean almost moved on. Before Dean and Aline are able to return to their bodies, Alastair corners them only to be captured by the angels.

In “Sex and Violence,” Aline, while being controlled by the siren, reveals that Mark took her to Hell when she was eight. She later tells Sam and Dean the whole story, even mentioning the nightmares she had up until Dean almost died in “Faith.”

Since they were Alastair's “students” in Hell, Dean and Aline are pressed into service by Castiel and Uriel, who need them to torture Alastair for information on who is killing angels in “On the Head of a Pin.” They both refuse at first but eventually agree. They succeed in getting Alastair to reveal that Dean himself was the first seal to break by virtue of giving in and torturing souls in Hell. (“The first seal shall be broken when a righteous man sheds blood in Hell. As he breaks, so shall it break.”)
The distraction is enough for Alastair to free himself, the Devil's Trap set up by Castiel himself having been eroded by a leaking pipe. Alastair nearly kills both Dean and Aline. Later, as they both recover in the hospital (Dean being more worse out of the two of them), Castiel informs them about Uriel's betrayal; Uriel had been killing angels who did not join his cause to free Lucifer from Hell.

In “It's a Terrible Life,” in an effort to put Dean back on the “right path,” Zachariah, Castiel's superior, re-writes Dean's, Sam's, and Aline's memories, removing Sam and Dean's knowledge of supernatural creatures and making the two of them believe they are average people working regular jobs. Aline, however, stays as a hunter, Zachariah making her believe she was completely human but keeping her memories of the hunts she had been on with the Winchesters and Hell. He drops the three of them in a haunted building. After Dean, Sam, and Aline proceed to defeat the ghost behind the hauntings, Zachariah (who posed as Dean and Aline's boss) restores Dean and Aline's memories to show Dean that hunting is in his blood.
In between “It's a Terrible Life” and “The Monster at the End of This Book,” Aline, Sam, and Dean have another run-in with a djinn, but only Aline gets infected. It is implied that she doesn't tell the boys about the dream world she lived in, only saying that she was happy. In “The Monster at the End of This Book,” Aline absolutely refuses to talk to Sam until she, Dean, and Chuck Shurley come and save him from Lilith. In that same episode, it is revealed that both she and Dean are aware that Sam used his demonic powers, but neither they nor Castiel know how Sam is getting stronger. In "The Rapture" both Dean and Aline see Sam drink the blood of the demon he is about to kill. Later in the Impala, they confront Sam about drinking demon blood when Sam receives a request to go to Bobby's house. Once there, Dean, Aline, and Bobby trick Sam and lock him in a demon-proof panic room as he detoxes from the demon blood. While Sam is going through painful withdrawal symptoms from the demon blood, Dean and Aline ask Castiel for help. They both take oaths to serve God and the angels if it would mean that Sam wouldn't have to kill Lilith. Sam escapes the panic room after Castiel releases him, and Dean and Aline track him down to a hotel, despite Sam's efforts to shake them. The three of them argue whether or not Ruby is corrupting Sam, if Dean is supposed to stop the Apocalypse, if Dean should've saved Aline, and if Sam is turning into a monster. The argument leads to a fight that Sam wins. On the floor and in pain, Dean calls to Sam, "If you walk out that door, don't you ever come back"—the same ultimatum John gave Sam when he left for college years before—after which Sam leaves the room.

Towards the end of the season, Dean, Sam, and Aline have a strong
confrontation which leads to a separation, Aline leaving with Dean. Soon afterwards, Sam learns Lilith's location and sets out to destroy her that evening. Around the same time, both Dean and Aline swear their alliances to serve Christ and are then held captive by Zachariah. After
having once again been freed by Castiel, Dean and Aline find Sam only to realize they're too late. Before killing Ruby, who had been manipulating Sam all along, Sam kills Lilith. As a result, the final seal is broken and the Apocalypse begins.
Season 5[]

The fifth season picks up right where season 4 ends when the portal to Hell opens. As Lucifer escapes, the brothers and Aline are teleported into an airplane by an unknown force (later revealed to be God). Dean is told by Zachariah that he is the "Sword of Michael", which means the Archangel Michael will use his body as a vessel to lead the forces of heaven, but Dean must consent to this. Dean refuses and Castiel saves him when Zachariah tries to force Dean to agree by harming him, Sam, and Aline. Bobby gets possessed by a demon and instead of killing Dean and Aline he kills the demon inside himself, using Ruby's knife, in turn paralyzing himself from the waist down.
Aline, Dean, and Sam fight the Horseman War in a town where the people think that their neighbors are demons. In this town are Ellen, Jo, and Rufus all trying to hunt the demons, who turn out to be normal people War has altered to
look like demons. Once Aline and the brothers cut the ring finger off of War, sending the town back to normal, both Aline and Dean worry that Sam is a liability with his demon blood lust, as evidenced by Sam's reaction to seeing Aline's blood. Later, Castiel finds Dean and Aline and they capture the Archangel Raphael to ask the location of God. In the fourth episode of the season, "The End," Dean is transported forward in time, this time by Zachariah, to see what the future will be like, leaving behind a panicking Aline. He finds himself in 2014, eventually meeting up with his future self, future Aline (who has gone back to Hell, only to come back a demon and only remembering Dean), as well as the survivors of the Croatoan Virus from Season 2. Future Aline tells him not to agree to be Michael's vessel, while his future self tells him to say yes. Dean is transported back to his own time where he comes face to face with Zachariah and a tied up Aline. Dean clearly refuses to become Michael's vessel when prodded by Zachariah. Castiel saves both Dean and Aline before Zachariah could begin to harm Aline. At the end of the episode, Aline and the brothers meet up again and decide they should stay together to "keep each other human."

During "Point of No Return," a disillusioned and hopless Dean tells Aline he's going to say yes to Michael and leaves her behind at Bobby's house despite her pleas to change his mind, saying they could find another way to stop the Apocalypse. Sam and Castiel return with Dean later to find Aline curled up in a corner, crying for Dean. The four of them research another method of stopping Lucifer; however, the resurrection of Sam and Dean's brother Adam Milligan (who agreed to be Michael's vessel) forces Sam, Aline, Bobby and Castiel to keep both Adam and Dean from Zachariah.

When Dean escapes with Aline and tries to lure the angels, both Castiel and Sam leave to find him, allowing Adam to be removed by the angels. Despite Bobby and Castiel's insistence on keeping Dean from Zachariah, Sam allows both him and Aline to try to rescue Adam. Castiel dispatches the angelic guards and Aline and the brothers attempt to rescue Adam, but Sam's ambush on Zachariah fails and Zachariah causes internal damage to Adam, Sam, and Aline to coerce Dean to consent to Michael. Ultimately, he relents, but after Zachariah summons Michael, Dean taunts him into sacrificing himself in order to allow Michael in. Zachariah angrily refuses, and Dean stabs him and ushers Aline and his brothers out of the room. Unfortunately, Adam does not escape in time and is locked in the room with the approaching Michael. As they leave, Dean admits that would have accepted Michael, but because of both Sam's and Aline's faith he decides that he will "take the fight to them".
It is reluctantly decided that the plan to throw Lucifer back into the cage requires Sam to become Lucifer's vessel. Dean, defeated and heartbroken, promises Sam he'll return to Lisa and Ben once this is over, much to Aline's sadness. Aline tells Sam she can't promise him anything. Once Sam says "yes" to Lucifer he loses control and closes the portal, then takes his leave to fight his older brother, Michael.
Just as Lucifer and Michael are about to begin, both Dean and Aline show up in the Impala to witness the fight as if to try and stop the inevitable one last time. Having enough of their attempts to save Sam, Lucifer goes on a rampage and begins to beat the both of them to a bloody pulp.
Lucifer kills Castiel and Bobby and beats Aline to unconsciousness. When she wakes up again, Sam, Lucifer, Michael, and Adam are gone, Castiel and Bobby are alive again, and both hers and Dean's wounds are healed. Unsurprisingly, both she and Dean are heartbroken at having lost Sam. Since Michael is no longer in Heaven, Castiel disappears to restore order.
In the end, Aline and Dean drive to Lisa's house in the Impala. They both get out of the car and hug each other one last time before Dean goes and lives with Lisa and Ben just like he promised Sam. Aline watches with tears falling from her eyes before forcing herself to walk away. Unknown to the both of them, Sam watches, having been released from the cage.
Season 6[]
One year later, Aline begins hunting with Sam, Dean, Samuel Campbell and other members of the Campbell Family after her and Sam teamed up to save Dean from Djinns. Both Dean and Aline are happy to see Sam alive but are soon enraged when they learn that Sam has been out of Lucifer's cage and back on earth for over a year and didn't tell either of them. It is awkward between Lisa and Aline as Dean takes Lisa and Ben back to Bobby's for safety, where both Aline and Dean discover that Bobby knew Sam was back as well
and didn't tell them. Dean, Sam, and Aline use themselves as bait to lure the djinns, but Aline becomes affected by hallucinations of Dean
saying he loves her and wants to be with her. Sam is able to snap both her and Dean (who had also been affected by hallucinations of Azazel killing Lisa and feeding Ben demon blood) out of it as the Djinn are captured. Both Sam and Aline leave after Dean decides to stay with Lisa and Ben, Aline promising to call whenever she got the chance with pain in her eyes.
During this time, Sam starts harassing Aline, which upsets her to no end, but she doesn't talk about it to Dean whenever she calls him to let him know how she's doing.
Aline becomes distrustful of the Campbells from the moment she meets them. Later, when Sam and Aline call Dean back to hunting when they find an abandoned baby from a crime scene and need help taking care of it, Dean shares the sentiment. Samuel wants to raise the baby as a hunter which infuriates both Dean and Aline, but before they can discuss it any further, the Alpha Shifter arrives and kills one of the cousins, also taking down the
rest of the Campbells. Then the Alpha defeats Sam, Dean, and Aline and takes the baby.

Once Dean starts hunting again, Aline immediately leaves Sam and partners up with Dean without a second thought, much to Dean's shock. They both are called to a case by Sam to investigate the mysterious deaths of several cops. Both Dean and Aline suggest they call Castiel, but Sam doesn't believe he'll come. To his surprise, Castiel responds to Dean's call and tells them that the staff of Moses is responsible for the deaths. He also informs them that heaven is embroiled in a civil war as Raphael is trying to take over and resume the Apocalypse that Sam, Dean, and Aline prevented. They find the child responsible for the deaths and discover that he sold his soul to an angel for the staff. Castiel soul probes the child against Dean's and Aline's wishes but with Sam's consent. The angel Balthazar is responsible for the transaction and Castiel tracks him down, with Dean, Aline, and Sam staying behind and fighting Raphael's angel henchmen who have been hunting Cas. They help Castiel trap Balthazar after Raphael is defeated and force him to relinquish the child's soul. Afterwards, Sam joins Dean and Aline in the Impala again as his own car was destroyed (much to Aline's chagrin), and both Dean and Aline question Sam's strange behavior and his time in hell, but Sam doesn't want to talk about it at all.
In "Weekend at Bobby's," Dean and Aline call Bobby for help with a Lamia and later on to discuss Sam's behavior. Bobby later yells at the both of them for being selfish and oblivious to Bobby's own problems. Abashed, both Dean and Aline fly to Scotland with Sam in an effort to help get Bobby's soul back from Crowley.
Sam, Dean, and Aline investigate what appears to be a vampire attack, and Dean becomes entangled with the vampire Boris. Sam and Aline walk by as Boris attacks Dean. Aline goes to help Dean and behead Boris, but Sam holds her back with both arms. She struggles in
his grip as he watches Boris turn Dean into a vampire. Once Sam lets her go, Aline punches Sam in the face before going over to help Dean up, but Dean pushes her away, hearing her unsteady heartbeat. Aline now has lost trust in Sam completely. Sam tries to reason with the both of them, assuring them that Samuel will know what to do. Dean begs Aline to kill him, but Sam stops her. Aline doesn't sleep the whole night and watches Dean sneak out to visit Lisa in order to say one last goodbye, tears in her eyes.
Upon Samuel's arrival, Dean demands that he kill him, but Samuel refuses and informs both him and Aline that there is a cure for vampirism. As long as Dean hasn't fed, then the cure can turn him back. The cure requires blood from the vampire who turned you, so both Dean and Aline (after much convincing on her part) infiltrate the nest and encounter Boris, who explains the vampires' aim. Most of the vampires stare at Aline with fear in their eyes. When Boris smells the dead man's blood drop from Aline's and Dean's syringes, he attacks them both. Before the vampire can make his move, all the vampires in the nest collapse, including Dean. Aline screams his name and catches him before he can hit the floor.
When he awakens, Boris is rallying the coven of the vampire to attack Dean and Aline. Dean and Aline, however, have the upper hand and take out the entire nest single-handedly, including Boris. On the way back to the motel, Dean asks her about why the vampires were afraid of her, but she says not to worry about it. Back at the motel, Dean drinks the cure and goes through a painful process of turning back. Aline never leaves his side, earning painful jibes from Sam.

Once she and Dean are alone after he wakes up, Aline reveals what Sam had been doing to her before she joined up with Dean again and holds Dean back from beating up Sam. Dean swears to protect Aline and make sure Sam never harasses her again. They both become so uncomfortable around Sam, they begin making excuses to stay away from him. Dean and Aline book two separate motel rooms in order to keep their distance from Sam. They both inform Bobby of the situation and dig up information on whatever could possibly be Sam's diagnosis. Dean asks aloud for the truth and is infected with a truth curse from the goddess Veritas where people tell truths against their will.
When he asks Aline about how she felt about Samuel, she reveals her distrust of him and the rest of the Campbells. Sam, however, proves to be immune to this, as the curse doesn't affect him. He lies to both Aline and Dean at first, but then comes clean after Dean pulls a knife on his brother.

Both Dean and Aline process the truth about Sam and respond with beating Sam unconscious. They both take matters into their own hands and call Castiel for assistance with diagnosing Sam. Castiel confirms that Sam has no soul, and that it is still in the cage with Michael and Lucifer. Dean and Aline intend on holding Sam in the motel room, but, when Sam unties the bonds he's in and refuses, Dean states they'll be watching every move he makes, which Sam agrees to. Aline and the two brothers then chase the only lead they have toward Sam's soullessness: Samuel. Samuel has a lead on the Alpha vampire, and both Dean and Aline volunteer themselves and Sam to join the hunt. Samuel reluctantly lets Dean join the hunt.
Both Dean and Aline are left with Gwen to stand guard while Sam joins the other Campbells on the hunt. The two of them sneak away and catch Sam helping Samuel and a few other Campbells loading the Alpha vampire into the van. They later confront Sam about it, and Sam admits that keeping this from the two of them was his own idea because they needed to interrogate creatures, and apparently Dean and Aline 'mess it up.' Both Dean and Aline are furious about Sam's lack of instinct and give him two options: to work with them or to go off with Samuel and see how that goes. They are shocked when Sam comes back, admitting they both gave it a 60/40 prediction of whether Sam would come back.

Sam, Dean, and Aline follow Samuel via his cell phone's GPS to a warehouse where they are holding the Alpha vampire. When Samuel leaves the room, the brothers and Aline take the opportunity to question the creature themselves. The Alpha remembers Dean even by name, referring to him as 'his child for a time'. Once Aline introduces herself, he pales considerably. When the three of them ask the Alpha what Samuel wants from him, the vampire reveals that it is Purgatory Samuel is looking for and that Samuel is merely working for someone else while his eyes flit between the brothers and the knife in Aline's hand. Dean and Aline confront Samuel about it, but is interrupted by the escape of the Alpha. Christian, revealed as a demon, and a few other demons, recapture the Alpha and take it away.
Crowley appears on the scene and reveals that he's Samuel's boss and is the one who's looking for Purgatory. He is also responsible for raising both Samuel and Sam and is in possession of Sam's soul. If the three of them cooperate, Sam gets his soul back. If they don't, Crowley shoves Sam back in Lucifer's cage.
Both Dean and Aline are reluctant to work for Crowley, but Sam works the cases anyway, as he sees no other option. The two of them are still not convinced that Sam is Dean's brother and Aline's best friend and later admit that they don't know what he is. When Sam states that he thinks it might be best to go back to being the old Sam, Aline and Dean accept his offer and say it's 'time to get his brother and her best friend back.'
The three of them are more on the same page now, but Dean and Aline still seem to struggle with Sam's behavior and then start to act as their 'Jiminy Cricket' to Sam's 'Pinocchio'. They investigate a case of crop circle abductions, leading people to believe it is a UFO sighting. Aline panics when Dean doesn't return from checking out the crop circles for himself. Sam tells her to calm down and takes her to the bar and orders a shot of whiskey for her. She doesn't touch the alcohol and goes back to the motel while Sam brings a hippie chick back to his room.
A while later, Dean returns and walks in on Sam having sex with the hippie chick. Aline walks in just as the girl was leaving and hears Dean expressing his irritation at this and stating that he 'had a close encounter, and won it'. However, it's proven that he didn't exactly win anything, as he starts seeing things that no one else can see. There's one moment when Dean's alone, and the door to the motel bursts open and a "little, glowing, hot, naked lady" flies in and starts hitting him. He traps her in the microwave and cooks her, but when he tries to show Sam and Aline her remains, neither Sam nor Aline can't see them. Sam then draws the conclusion that the UFO encounters are because of Fairies.
Dean, Aline, and Sam go to visit Marion, a woman they interviewed earlier who had said that fairies were behind the disappearances. She tells them all about fairies, including that they like cream and that they must count every grain of salt or sugar that is spilled in front of them. After they leave, they see Mr. Brennan loading boxes of cream into his car. Dean breaks into his shop and sees elves working on watches for him. Afterwards, Dean is being stalked by a fairy, a Red Cap in particular, and he mistakenly tackles a midget and is arrested for a hate crime. While in jail, Dean was being beaten by the Red Cap in his jail cell, but is saved by Sam and Aline in time and is released from jail the next morning. The midget, who was also the district attorney for Tipton county, dropped the charges against him. Dean and Aline learn that the leprechaun struck terms of making a deal with Sam, to lift his soul from the cage (and make him a 'real boy'). They both question Sam's way of thinking, and wonders if Sam is having second thoughts.
Both Aline and Dean quickly become tired of working for Crowley, as they see that it's not getting them anywhere. They both try to reason with Sam that Crowley may not keep his end, but Sam has left the room. When they both slowly walk the motel room looking for Sam, they get knocked out by demons, led by none other than Meg. Dean responds emotionally, saying he's been dying to see her again to get back at her for being responsible of Ellen and Jo's deaths. Meg seemingly approves of this, but not before demanding where their "boss" is. While neither Aline or the brothers answer, she puts a knife to Dean's neck, getting impatient. Sam, however, merely laughs at her, and reassures Dean that she can't kill them because she needs them to get her to Crowley so she could kill him. Dean says he hopes they both lose. Sam suggests that she works with them and makes a deal with her, which Dean and Aline are not in favor of. When the demons leave, Dean and Aline confront Sam about it. Neither of them are sure whether working with a demon again will go anywhere good, and their tendencies to double-cross work against them. Sam assures the both of them that they will get the jump on the demons first because he'll be bringing Castiel along for the ride. Both Dean and Aline express surprise when Sam actually succeeds in calling the angel.

Aline has blue eyes and long dark brown hair. She is 5'5 and lithe. Aline usually wears a light blue jacket over an orange t-shirt, jeans, and boots, unless she has to wear a costume to impersonate someone. She has two X-shaped scars on her hands to remind herself of her promise to not drink alcohol. Aline usually carries an orange leather bound book with her initials (AMP) embossed on the spine and a pen in her pocket. After “On the Head of a Pin,” she has two letter-shaped scars above her right breast. In “The Monster at the End of This Book,” Dean gives her a small green rubber band that she wears on her left ring finger, a reminder of what she had seen in her ideal life.
Personality[]
Aline is shown to be kind, funny, and both mature and immature at the same time, trying to think of ways to prank Dean. She is an avid fan of musicals and classic rock music, thanks to Dean. Aline was pulled into the life of a hunter after meeting Sam and Dean, all the signs clearly pointing to her joining Azazel at the time of Damian's death.
Besides the back and forth flirty comments between herself and Dean, Aline avoids getting attached/falling in love with someone out of fear of what she would do if that person died. After she realizes her feelings for Dean in “In My Time of Dying,” she refuses to confess her feelings to him. This fear is based on her emotions when Damian was dying and Azazel's apparent reaction to Aline's possible choice.
Aline values Sam and Dean's safety over anything else as proved evident when she took a bullet from one of the Benders for Dean, as well as distracting a police officer so Sam could get away.
Aline learned how to be a hunter from Dean before John took over in “Dead Man's Blood.” If someone upsets her, she becomes ruthless and aggressive, killing without question or remorse and sometimes using her powers should someone push her too far. Like Dean, she's very laid-back and well-disposed when not on the hunt, often engaging in a prank war with Dean much to Sam's chagrin. On the hunt, she is determined to find the ones that caused the death of her mother.
As revealed in “Shadow,” Aline doesn't like to be called “Liney.” The explanation for this was given to John in “In My Time of Dying,” where Aline revealed that both Azazel and Mark had called her that. As revealed in “Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things,” Azazel revealed that Aline thought of John as a father figure, thinking that he was a better father than Mark.
After her extraction from Hell by Dean, Aline begins to feel possessive and protective of Dean, keeping him close to her when they're asleep. She refuses to reveal just how much humanity she has left after her time in Hell, theories stating that only Dean knows since they spent all that time together down there. It is unclear just how much time they spent together while in the Pit. She denies remembering anything of her time in Hell, only saying she remembers the walk with the crossroad demon.

In “Shadow,” Aline attempted to kill Meg using biokinesis after Meg almost revealed Aline's past and called her “Liney.” Meg ended up fighting it off.
In the Season One episode “Devil's Trap,” Aline's hand was on fire when she was about to punch Azazel to prove that she wasn't anything like him or Mark. Also, in the Season Two episode “Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things,” her fist was on fire while she was punching the imaginary Azazel.
In “In My Time of Dying” when Dean was dying, Aline threw objects around while crying for him using telekinesis.
In the Season Three finale “No Rest for the Wicked,” Aline tortures Ruby with a technique she said Mark used on her. It is unclear whether she can still use that technique after going to Hell.

Sam & Aline – Aline sees Sam as the brother she never had. She even calls him “Sammy,” Sam letting her.
John & Aline – Aline looks up to John since he was her second mentor. She looks up to him as her father figure, even offering to trade her freedom for John's and Dean's lives instead of John offering the Colt in “In My Time of Dying.”
Azazel & Aline – Azazel and Aline were enemies, yet Azazel was the closest connection she had to Nicole (moreso than Mark).
Dean & Aline – Aline and Dean are friends, even though Aline has a crush on Dean that she won't tell him about. Aline put herself in harm's way just to protect Dean. She tries to keep her growing emotions at bay to protect Dean from herself, even going so far as to not tell him at all. The bond between the two grew after spending time in Hell. So much so that Dean, when Castiel pulled him out, pulled Aline out as well, Dean refusing to leave her behind to become a full demon.

In “It's a Terrible Life,” Aline was originally going to be a secretary, but she was left as a hunter. She tells both Sam and Dean she went to Hell, but she doesn't fully reveal anything about why she ended up there. It isn't mentioned who she sold her soul to save, but theories have stated that it was Damian, even though he died two years before Sam and Dean even met her. It was revealed at a convention the day after the episode aired by Amity Hale that Aline had, essentially, become the female version of Dean just for the episode.

At a convention during the hiatus between seasons 5 and 6, a mini-episode, like the one involving the Ghostfacers and Castiel, was showed that took place during the year Sam was in the cage with Adam, Michael, and Lucifer. This episode, called "Die Hard The Hunter," revealed that Aline had visited Dean while he was living with Lisa and Ben whenever there was a break between hunts. In the episode, Aline reluctantly tells Dean about a monster that had taken a familiar face. This mini-episode was put as an extra on the complete Season 6 DVD.
Another mini-episode aired at a different convention before the Season 10 preview at the annual San Diego Comic-Con. This one, called "God's Gonna Cut You Down," was a Season 9 episode. It took place after "Blade Runners." In it, Aline and the Winchesters come face to face with a witch who puts a curse on Aline. The mini-episode revealed a side of
Aline no one had ever seen, along with how she had acted when she hunted on her own those two years while Sam was in the cage and Dean was in Purgatory.
In the episode where Dean gets transported to the apocalyptic 2014, Aline is a full-demon, possibly foreshadowing her change into one at the end of season 9, but she wasn't a knight of Hell in endverse. She was just a run-of-the-mill demon with emotions.
The male version of her, Alec, is an alcoholic due to his recurring nightmares about Hell. Aline, on the other hand, is not due to her stepfather almost raping her two weeks before her fourteenth birthday.
As of the most recent episode, Aline and Dean still have their souls connected via her scar.
